Fifty States.com - a
page for each state gives basic facts. Extensive links from state pages to

A large database with over 20,000 entries provides short
entries for a number of famous personalities. Includes also book reviews, video
reviews and other features.

Comprehensive and well organized. Includes pictures.

Very extensive, with information on the authors' own travels to "penguin watch." Includes "Common Questions" (good for first graders!) and photo index.
SeaWorld/Busch Gardens: Penguins
Studies different aspects of penguin study as a whole, without division into species. Separate species index is included, as well as a young readers booklist. SeaWorld penguincam
More scientific slant. May be useful for teachers.
Virtual Antarctica Science: Penguins
This site holds information about an actual tour in the Antarctic, as well as information on penguins and on the Antarctic region in general. Includes ship's log, expedition map. Although some areas have a slightly commercial slant, this site has good information and could be fun!
A large, comprehensive guide to mental health.
These sites offer possibilities for more in-depth searching, and would be appropriate for teachers or students assisted by teachers.
A site which lists links according to Dewey Decimal (i.e.
subject) classification. Useful for subject research. Still developing, so some
areas are better represented than others.
An extensive site which allows the searcher to submit
questions, search the ERIC database, or visit the ERIC virtual library for
resources.
The Digests are a part of the ERIC database. All articles in the digests are online full-text, whereas many accessed in the regular ERIC search will provide only an abstract.
An online collection of research articles regarding the teaching of information literacy.
Use these sites to get great tips on incorporating technology into your classroom, and in many cases just learning neat stuff that makes your life easier!
The Landmark Project - This site offers ideas for use of online resources in the classroom. There are links to an incredible number of "raw materials," including original documents, statistical data and more.
The MACUL Learning Interchange - A working resource site offered by the Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning. The Units section of the site offers full outlines for many units of study which make use of technology. Check them out!
